Termpaper madness

I just cant think of a topic think for my term paper. I’ve been working on my term paper for some time over the break, but everytime I choose a topic, there doesn’t seem to be much resources in the library. And the internet is no help at all because they all say the same thing, like people just copy pasted everything.

Our teacher Ma’am Aguillion wants us to have an internet source as well as a book resource for our paper. But, due to the limited supplies of books relating to my topic, there is no hope for me at all.

For example.

My first topic was about Ventriloquism, the art of throwing your voice to make it seem as if it is coming from somewhere else. Well, there were books sources, all of them said exactly the same thing. Ma’am wants five or three book sources. And the internet didn’t help either, it was just a whole bunch of how-to’s and what nots. It gave no background history of anything whatsoever.

My second topic was about manners, simple and short. Yeah, it may seem easy, but heck, the books didn’t help at all, copy-paste, and the internet sources are all the same thing!

Now, ma’am said to do something that you would think is cool and fun to you. But I’m not sure about anything anymore. I could do a biography on a person, but I don’t think dead people are cool and fun. So I pulled the ones that I thought might be in the books and would have a lot of resources on the net. I think they are interesting (cuz I like these subjects, I think they’re pretty cool).

Chinese History

Architecture

Martial Arts Around the Globe

Woodworking

Unsolved Mysteries

Yep, I thought they are all pretty cool, but I’m having a hard time trying to choose which one I want to write about. I’m moving towards architecture, but I would like to do unsolved mysteries to keep Ma’am interested in my paper. And I’d love to study about the Chinese history, but woodworking sounds like fun. And martial arts sounds really cool since almost every country has a hand-to-hand combat technique of self-defense, and it’d be pretty cool if I could learn something about it.

Oy, if this wasn’t so hard to choose…

Future Handyman

So, a few weeks ago (give or take a few days), I had a architecture project that involved wood cutting and gluing and stuff like that (read below for the architecture story). Well, my grandpa and uncle helped me that stuff, you know, the cutting, the sawing, that sorta stuff. I felt useless since all I did was give them the measurements and angles (that by the way, were complete accurate, in a way) so that they could chop it up.

SO, in order to revive my non-useless feelings, I decided to try to saw things today.
Yep, took me quite a while because I didn’t have a wood stopper or little thing to keep the wood from moving (my grandfather took it off). So anyway, it was pretty straight and a bit easier than I had thought, but if I had a stopper, then everything would be much better…

So, yeah, I feel great now that I know how to (partially) use a saw and stuff. I even learned how to mark angles and lines on a wooden block. Also how to mark the area that I’m supposed to cut. Now that I learned, its time for a project!

Its can be one of these:
A small wooden box/chest
Puzzle box (I have the blueprints)
A recreation of the pyramid project that I had
Or just about anything boxy I guess….

UPDATE (really small though...)

Well, I havent updated in a while, haha sorry mom and Rj and Nickssss..
I've been so busy with the term paper and the science powerpoint, i never had much time to write a full post for a blog... but heres whats going on...

Im in a little bit in a spot here. PSP or iPod? Hmmm....
I've been trying to decide for quite some time now. My mom has been bragging about her latest gizmo, and I'm stuck here listening to it while she rubs it in my face. She recently got an iPod Touch and shes going crazy, I think. But lately my whole family has been in the iPod craze. Auntie got an iPod touch, Dad got an iPhone, and of course mommy got a iPod Touch and an excuse to brag at her poor little son who has a broken iPod Video.

Ouch.
Well, mom said she went on friendster (with her ipod), and has been watching youtube on her iPod. no fair mom...

So anyway....

Architecture Gone Wrong

SO, this is how it goes down. The other high school students went camping and I’m stuck at home doing nothing, well, almost nothing. I’m working on the project that nobody likes to do except me (and playing pokemon at the same time). Its an architectural project in which a group of 5-6 students get together to create this one of a kind model of a structure that doesn’t exist, meaning we have to make it up on our own… The funny part is the one about the 5-6 students thing. We have 6 members in our group, and only 3 of them (including myself) are actually doing something. I’m doing the scaling and calculations of the whole thing. Design artist, Nicole Bayeta, is designing (quite reasonable since she is the design artist). RJ Gentapanan is our stylist, and my conscience in this whole thing (in case I get second thoughts).

Our other “members” are Mariel Cacho (who has to have everything done for her by other people), Honey Ray Calog (rarely see him), and Malcolm Ofiasa (who is absolutely no help at all).

Well, I was doing some calculating a few weeks back, and I had everything planned out. Turns out some of my calculations were wrong, and the pyramid was actually a tri-mid. Or, if you prefer pyramid with 3 sides (I’m not even sure if tri-mid is even a word). Yeah, and it gets even better, the “tri-mid” would usually have solid sides right? Well, lets just say it has holes in it. Luckily, saved by the teacher, recapped that “the buildings must be made up, and no stealing of designs from buildings already built”. Boy was I happy, I thought this was all my fault.

Design artist, Nicole, was actually expecting it to be a pyramid, and the whole thing was actually supposed to look like pyramids in Egypt, and that the pyramids were supposed to be in Egypt, and we were going to have sand everywhere and camels. BUTT (yes “butt”, its not a typo), the teacher had announced what she had announced and its all good…

BUTT (not a typo), theres this concept that I actually want to do. The “tri-mids” are actually, pretty cool looking. Cheah, thats awesome, isnt it? Hahaha well, I dont know, what do you think?

We are actually going to give it a nice varnish to make it look classy yet modern. Well, its up to our designer, yep. Our lolo is actually putting the hinges on it as we speak. If you are wondering about the hinges, the "tri-mids" are actually going to open up, and there will be something inside. Yeap, pretty cool huh? thanks to my dream job of being an architect (as soon as I'm done with nursing).

Local Possessions...

So just recently, there were campers from another school on their pathfinders trip. And they were camping across from the church in the little "forest" there. They had a great time and all, and I guess they were surprised at what would happen after...

AS TOLD BY PEOPLE THAT WANT TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS (and RJ)

So they were inside the Alumni Church doing their thing and stuff. Then all the sudden, about two people got possessed and had to be pinned down. Wow, think about that.... So they were pinned down (great idea guys), and resisted the whatever of the guys pinning them down. A lot of the people were scared, and some were crying. Then RJ says that the people that were crying all the sudden got possessed and soon there were like 12 people possessed AT THE SAME TIME! Weird huh? Yeah, I thought to. Soon the church was a havoc, and pastors and people were called from their houses (at night) just go out and exorcise the people.

My lolo was there so I guess he helped too...

UPDATE!!!!

So yeah, this is the whole story as told by our teacher. He said that the people were actually supposed to camp in this place called Kisalom (I'm not sure how to spell it), and when they were hiking to that place, they passed a place of sugarcane fields.

So when they were there, about 2 people were possessed near the sugarcane fields. Which by the way SUCKS I KNOW! So after that, the people continued on their journey (I'm not sure whether the people were exorcised) until they reached the gates of their campsite. Then at the gates, the counselors were posssessed (I think about 4 of them).

So in their scary adventures, they hiked back to the church, and at that night about 12 were possessed. That sucks... Later on in the morning, again, they were attacked, about 9 of them...

So wow, they finally decided to leave and stuff. But on their way home, outside the gates of our school and property, they again got possessed.... Dang...

A Quote That Brightened My Day....

Well, if you read my other post, my firstest post (yes firstest), then you probably know that I have grudge issues. Yeah, so mom has been trying to talk me out of punching the guy, and let me tell folks, it did not work. nice try mom... Well, a few days ago I had a dream that really spoke to me, literally. So there I was, standing in the dark area of my mind (since when is my mind black?) and there was this man that stood before me. He looked old but in pretty good shape, he wore white and sat on a stone. I told him my problems that bothered me and when I got to the part about me wanting to punch somebody. Yeah, he told me this and I remembered it pretty clearly when I woke up. I typed it on my phone so that I wouldn't forget it...

Heres how it goes...

"If a rival mocks, lies, and gossips about you,
do not yield to his pitiful acts.
If he finds joy in such,
laugh and walk away.
For there is only disaster when fights arise.
Do not let him bother you for his reasons are well-oiled with mistake and misfortune.
Do not slap him with the same glove,
for those who mock,
lie,
and gossip,
are workers of Satan's factories.
If you do the same,
you are bickering co-workers whose only pay is guilt and misery.
Laugh and walk away,
for the day is brighter when you turn from the rain clouds
and look in the direction of the sun."
That really got me... But I turned around, and a giant McDonalds logo was in front of me. And when I turned back to thank the man that helped me, he was gone...
So, usually mom calls in the morning every once in a while just to check on me and have those long talks because I miss her (and probably vice versa, I don't know). I told her about the dream and the white man, and she was surprised, I guess.
Mom: "It took a white man, a quote, and a McDonalds Ad to change your mind?
Nick: Yup...

Artshow (hehe, its pitiful I know)

So I recently got this phone and I've been going around taking pictures of a lot of things. Now, if you know me (you probably don't) but I love creating pen drawings and penciled abstract. It just seems really cool if the only purpose of your drawing was to express, not to impress.

But now my passion is photography. And to show you one of my works, I'm going to give an exclusive look into my gallery. Hehe... Gallery...

OKAY HERE WE GO!

So, I like to call this piece "Walk Away."It actually was my dinner and stuff. When my sister was about to eat her food, I noticed that the hot dog looked like it was walking away
the other hot dogs. Or if you put in other terms, the other two hot dogs were gossiping about the other one and the other one didn't want to hear it so it just walked away. Actually.
